GRADION PARTICIPATES IN DIGITAL FINANCE CONFERENCE 2025: AI, GENAI AND INCLUSION THROUGH INNOVATION

Ho Chi Minh City, October 2025: Gradion took part in the Digital Finance Conference 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, a two-day event that brought together regulators, central bankers, and financial technology leaders from across the region to discuss innovation and inclusion in the digital economy.

Representing Gradion at the conference were Founder Lars Jankowfsky, CEO Roberto Kauffmann-Dev, and Partnership Manager Ly Le, who joined an expert panel titled “AI and GenAI in Finance: Unlocking Inclusion through Innovation.”

The panel, moderated by Shehryar Ali Shah, Senior Country Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), featured distinguished speakers including:

  • Li Xiaoli (Singapore University of Technology and Design)
  • Phil Wright (COO, HSBC Vietnam)
  • Santhosh Mahendiran (Chief Data & Analytics Officer, Techcombank).

Discussions focused on how artificial intelligence and generative AI are shaping financial inclusion, the challenges of governance, and the opportunities for innovation within the financial ecosystem.

During the session, panelists explored how AI-driven models analyze behavioral data to enhance accessibility and trust in financial services. As shared by Santhosh Mahendiran (Techcombank), AI systems in Vietnam’s banking sector now process over 12,000 behavioral data points, such as digital habits, to better assess risk and inclusion.

The conference organizers commended the speakers for their contribution, noting in their closing message:

“Your insights, expertise, and engaging discussions were truly invaluable and greatly contributed to the success of the event. The feedback we have received from the attendees has been overwhelmingly positive. It was evident that the knowledge and experiences you shared resonated deeply with the audience, sparking new ideas and inspiring many.”

As Gradion’s Founder Lars Jankowfsky reflected in his post-event remarks, the real challenge for the financial sector is not speed of innovation but governance:

“Fintech lives on trust and compliance, but right now, 100% are using AI and only 50% have rules for it. We’re advancing with Asian speed but missing German discipline.”

Gradion emphasized that being AI-first means not only advancing models and capabilities but also ensuring the governance, structure, and security that make innovation sustainable.

The Digital Finance Conference 2025 concluded with strong engagement and shared optimism on the role of responsible AI in building inclusion through innovation.
