Scaling business
In the lead-up to its IPO, HomeToGo exercised a contractual option to acquire its NFQ (represented by Gradion) engineering team, integrating their expertise in-house. The company continued to refine its technology operations and emerged as a travel tech leader.
In September 2021, HomeToGo went public on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, achieving a valuation of over 1 billion Euros.
The Challenge
Building a Scalable Global Platform
HomeToGo needed a robust, intuitive, and globally scalable platform to help users search and book vacation rentals with ease.
Managing Massive Real-Time Data Streams
With over 100 third-party APIs, constant partner updates, and high traffic volume, the system required powerful infrastructure capable of processing real-time data continuously and reliably.
The Solution
Cloud-Native and Secure by Design
NFQ (represented by Gradion) helped architect a flexible, cloud-native infrastructure that prioritized scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
Long-Term Engineering Partnership
Beyond the initial launch, NFQ (represented by Gradion) remained a core engineering partner. At peak, up to 150 engineers across four offices in three countries worked on the HomeToGo platform.
Agile Development at Scale
NFQ (represented by Gradion) applied modern methodologies such as Lean Startup, Extreme Programming, Trunk-Based Development, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and sustainable delivery.
Today, HomeToGo’s tech team - including original NFQ (represented by Gradion) engineers - runs 50+ production deployments per day, executes over 100 concurrent A/B tests, and maintains 99.99% uptime. Together, they’ve built a robust integration layer with 100+ connected APIs, with future goals centered on scaling subscriptions and enhancing efficiency through AI.

Thanks to market-leading tech architecture that developed alongside the business, HomeToGo has achieved tremendous growth:
