Production-grade iOS and Android apps built for real users, not demo decks.

Gradion builds native iOS and Android apps, cross-platform solutions in React Native and Flutter, and mobile-first backends designed to support them. Teams have shipped apps for enterprise document management, premium car rental, consumer retail, outdoor travel, and startup MVPs - each with different constraints, each delivered to production. The decisions made at architecture stage - whether to go native or cross-platform, how to structure offline sync, where to draw the boundary between app and API - are the ones that determine whether a product scales or stalls.

We work with DACH companies bringing mobile-first ideas to market and Asia-Pacific businesses modernising mobile layers that have accumulated years of technical debt. In both cases, the standard is the same: working software shipped to users, not a handover document.

What we build

Native iOS and Android: When performance, platform integration, or UX fidelity cannot be compromised, we build native. Swift and Kotlin for applications that need hardware access, complex animations, or tight OS integration. We have rebuilt hybrid apps to native when the performance ceiling became a product problem, and we will tell you upfront if native is the right answer or an overcostly one.

Cross-platform with React Native and Flutter: We use them where the codebase economics make sense and the UX trade-offs are acceptable - not because it is faster to scope. Both approaches ship from the same team that does native, so the quality bar does not change.

Mobile-first architecture: An app is only as reliable as the backend it connects to. We design backends that account for intermittent connectivity, background sync, push notification pipelines, and authentication flows that work across device generations. Where we are joining an existing backend, we harden the API surface for mobile consumption rather than bending the client to a backend that was never designed for it.

UX/UI for mobile: Thumb-reachable navigation, load state management, error handling that does not strand the user, and flows that work on a 5-inch screen in a queue. Design work is tied to implementation - the interface that ships is the interface that was designed.

Quality and release engineering: Automated test pipelines, staged rollouts, crash reporting, and analytics instrumentation. App store submission and release coordination are part of the engagement, not an afterthought.

Proof in production

Camino Ninja, a travel app for hiking the Camino de Santiago, was running on an architecture that had become a bottleneck: content managed through hardcoded JSON files, a minimal PHP admin portal, no path to update routes, hotels, or reviews without a developer touching the code. Gradion migrated all content into a PostgreSQL backend on AWS, rebuilt the mobile app in Flutter with offline map and hotel data sync preserved, and implemented Directus.io as the central CMS so the client could manage their own content. Revenue increased 40 percent post-launch.

A Swiss fintech SaaS provider offers document and mail management for Swiss businesses. Their original mobile apps ran on Ionic, which had reached its limits: inconsistent performance, API instability causing frequent sync failures, and a mobile roadmap that had fallen behind the web product. Gradion rebuilt iOS and Android in native, redesigned the UX, and stabilised the backend APIs the mobile product depended on.

GoVibe needed a car rental platform for Hawaii built from scratch during COVID-19, with tourism down 74 percent and no in-person collaboration possible. Gradion delivered the MVP across web and mobile in three months. When the market recovered, the platform was ready: 290 percent booking growth by 2022, 375 percent by 2024, 13,000+ app downloads.
