ACE GRAND OPENING

ACE AUTOMATION CENTER OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES: REALIZING THE AUTOMATION STRATEGY IN VIETNAM’S MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

The Vietnam Automation Center of Excellence (ACE), a pioneering model in Vietnam in the field of smart manufacturing, was officially launched in Binh Duong – Ho Chi Minh City. The center is expected to promote the application of robotics, AI, and automation, contributing to realizing the digital transformation strategy of the industrial sector in Vietnam.

Binh Duong Ward – Ho Chi Minh City, September 8, 2025 – The Vietnam Automation Center of Excellence (ACE) officially inaugurated at the key industrial zone of Binh Duong. This first model in Southern Vietnam is designed to support manufacturing enterprises in accessing, testing, and deploying automation and artificial intelligence solutions into real-world operations. ACE’s mission is to become a platform connecting factories, robot suppliers, and technology companies, thereby accelerating the process of automation and digital transformation in Vietnam’s industry.

For many years, enhancing production capacity and reducing reliance on manual labor has remained a major challenge for Vietnam’s industrial sector. In reality, many factories are still operating manually, while the supply of skilled labor is increasingly scarce. Currently, up to 53% of domestic enterprises face difficulties in recruiting highly skilled workers¹. Moreover, foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam’s industrial sectors has been rising strongly², further escalating the shortage of skilled labor. This situation represents a significant opportunity for businesses to actively invest in automation and digital transformation to optimize resources and boost production lines.

In addition, to meet global standards and respond to new international trade barriers, enterprises are compelled to shift towards modern, automated, and sustainable production processes. Typical examples include the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)³ and high tariffs from the United States⁴, which are creating urgent requirements for restructuring production models.

Against this backdrop, ACE was established to support manufacturing enterprises in accessing, testing, and deploying advanced technologies such as automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence directly within real-world operations. This pioneering model in Southern Vietnam is positioned as an open ecosystem that connects enterprises with experts and solution providers, thereby shortening the gap between strategic vision and practical implementation capacity.

The launch of ACE takes place as Vietnam is entering a phase of accelerating digital transformation, innovation, and the development of core technologies. Therefore, ACE represents a commitment aligned with the orientations of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, issued by the Politburo⁵, and Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025⁶ on the development of science, technology, and international integration. It can be said that this center is one of the “first bricks” in realizing practical and effective applications of automation, AI, and smart manufacturing in industrial life.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Kien Nguyen – Head of Industrial Solutions at Gradion, the operating unit of ACE, shared:

“This is an important milestone that demonstrates our long-term commitment to promoting and supporting the automation journey of enterprises in Vietnam. By working alongside the Government and businesses, ACE is a pioneering platform with an open ecosystem that supports the path towards sustainable industrial development and acts as a bridge between factories, robot suppliers, and technology partners to implement advanced technological solutions.”

With the mission of advancing Industry 4.0 from a practical foundation, ACE is expected to play a leading role in enabling Vietnamese enterprises to step into the era of modern manufacturing.
