Family Day 2025: Four Cities, One Day to Just Be

Vietnam is where Gradion's largest engineering community lives and works. Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi, Can Tho, four cities, four teams, one culture.

On one day in June, all of them stopped.

Vietnam Family Day is a day Gradion sets aside every year, not as a programme item, but as a deliberate pause. A chance to remember that the people building things together are also people with families, with memories, with a childhood that shaped who they are.

Each city marked it differently. All of them meant it.

Ho Chi Minh City. A Walk Back to Childhood.

HCMC went back to the beginning. Street food stalls with the flavours that belong in primary school memories. Childhood games that needed no explanation. A hand-stitching station where team members made their own scented plush toys carefully with their hands. Some made one just for themselves. Some made one for a daughter. Some for a partner. Every stitch carried a different story.

There is something honest about making something by hand. It asks you to slow down. It gives you something to keep.

Da Nang. When the Office Belonged to Everyone.

Da Nang brought family in, all of them. Partners, children, siblings. The youngest members of the Gradion family filled the office with a kind of energy that spreadsheets cannot produce.

A clown made balloon animals in the hallway. Soap bubbles drifted past the meeting rooms. There was an ice cream counter, cotton candy, and small children who ran between the desks as if the office had always been theirs.

For that afternoon, it had been.

Hanoi & Can Tho. Together Is Enough.

Not every celebration requires a theme. In Hanoi and Can Tho, the teams spent the day together, no agenda, no scheduled activities. Just the people who show up for each other every day, given one day to simply be together.

That, too, is a form of care.

Why It Matters

Gradion builds and ships complex systems. The work is technical, precise, and often high-stakes.

But underneath every sprint and every deployment are people who have lives that extend far beyond their screens. People who carry their childhood with them. People whose families make the long hours meaningful.

Family Day is not a benefit. It is a statement about what we believe work should leave room for, connection, memory, and the quiet reminder that we are building something worth coming home from.
